The Technique

What Is
Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique that uses a hand-held blade to create ultra-fine, hair-like strokes in the skin's surface. Pigment is deposited into the superficial layers, resulting in natural-looking brows that can last 1–2 years. It was the technique that launched the brow revolution — and laid the foundation for everything we do today.

The Upgrade

Already Have Microblading?
It's Time to Upgrade.

Whether your microblading was done at MLA or another studio, Nano Brows can take your brows to the next level. We work with clients every day who are ready to move beyond the limitations of traditional microblading — fading color, lost definition, or strokes that no longer look natural.

In most cases, we can work directly over your existing microblading to refresh, reshape, and elevate your brows with the nano technique. No removal necessary.

✦
FADING OR DISCOLORED?
Nano Brows restore true-to-tone color that won't shift to orange or grey over time.
✦
LOST DEFINITION?
Ultra-fine nano strokes rebuild crisp, natural hair patterns — even over old work.
✦
READY FOR A CLEANER FADE?
Nano Brows typically last 1–2 years and fade softly, without the orange or grey shift common to blade work.

Microblading FAQs — and Why
Nano Brows Are the Future

Everything you need to know about microblading — and why our studio has evolved beyond it.

6 most asked questions

Microblading was groundbreaking when it launched, and quality artists can still deliver beautiful results. However, the technique has inherent limitations — the manual blade creates small cuts in the skin, which can cause more trauma and scarring over time, and results tend to fade faster, sometimes shifting to orange or grey tones. At MLA, we've evolved to Nano Brows because the technology delivers better results with less discomfort and results that stay natural for longer.
Microblading uses a handheld blade to manually cut hair-like strokes into the skin. Nano Brows use a digital nano-needle machine to deposit pigment without cutting — the needle glides over the skin rather than slicing it. The result is less trauma, faster healing, results that stay natural for longer, and strokes that are even finer and more realistic than traditional microblading.
Absolutely. Many of our clients originally had microblading done — either at MLA or elsewhere — and have transitioned to Nano Brows. In most cases, we can work over existing microblading to refresh and enhance your brows with the nano technique. During your consultation, we'll assess your current brows and create a custom plan.
Most clients report that Nano Brows are significantly more comfortable than traditional microblading. Because the nano-needle doesn't cut the skin, there's less trauma and less discomfort during the procedure. We also use a premium topical numbing cream to ensure you're comfortable throughout your appointment.
Traditional microblading typically lasts 1–2 years before a touch-up is needed. Nano Brows last 1–2 years and are refreshed with a touch-up. Because the strokes use less pigment placed more shallowly, they fade evenly and keep looking like hair; blade microblading traps pigment deeper, so it can stay for years but stops looking like hair strokes. Nano Brows also retain their true color better over time — they won't fade to the orange or grey tones that microblading can sometimes develop, especially on oily skin.
We've fully transitioned to Nano Brows because we believe it delivers a superior result for every client, regardless of skin type. Our founder Lindsey Ta made this decision after years of performing both techniques and seeing the clear advantages of the nano method. We're proud to offer exclusively what we believe is the best.
